Perryman Shoemaker recently completed construction of the new AMC Dine-In Fashion District 8 Theater in Center City Philadelphia. The AMC Theatre was constructed as a third floor overbuild at the Fashion District Philadelphia. A portion of the existing third floor was demolished to make way for new construction. The high-end Dolby® theatre has eight screens, two of which - the AMC Prime and Dolby theatres, have larger auditoriums and screens and state-of-the-art projection and sound as well as seats that pulsate. The theatre has fixed seating for 836 and 34 wheelchair spaces for movie viewing.
Features of the theatre include:
- Eight auditoriums with stadium seating and plush, reclining and heated seats
- Concession services
- Entrance lobby with TV screen, offices
- Administrative support and security
- Bar / restaurant.
The project consisted of structural steel/deck, roof replacement, interior fit-out of spaces, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and electrical work, and startup and commissioning. MEP features to support specialized acoustical sound systems were utilized.
